The statistics show on an annual basis the number of owners and how the ownership of Danish agricultural land is distributed by the nationalities of the owners, regions, type of owner, gender, age and size.
Data description
The statistics provide an annual overview of the number of owners and land area distributed by the owners’ nationality/country of residence, types of ownership, age, gender, and size of land area.
An ownership refers to persons or companies that hold rights to a specific real property unit (BFE_NR). A specific real property unit (BFE) consists of one or more parcels of land with the same BFE_NR and is registered in the Danish Geodata Agency’s cadastral register, the Cadastre (Matriklen).
For individuals with Danish citizenship or residence within the Danish Realm, the owners’ nationality is used, whereas for other individuals, the country of residence “determines citizenship.”
