Coverage of general practitioners

The purpose of the statistics Coverage of general practitioners is to shed light on geographical differences in the coverage of general practitioners in Denmark. The statistics are used to compare different municipality groups' coverage of general practitioners and gain insight into which geographical areas show signs of a shortage of general practitioners. The statistics are newly developed and cover the period from 2015 and onwards. The statistics are comparable throughout the period.

Health Insurance Statistics

These statistics focus on the consumption of health care services within the primary public health care sector . The statistics are based on annual extracts from LUNA, which is the IT system used by the regions to settle accounts for health services with the individual providers (e.g., physicians, dentists, etc.). The statistics have been compiled since 1986 but are comparable from 2006 onwards.

Overweight among children

The purpose of the statistics Overweight among children is to shed light on geographical differences in overweight among children in Denmark. The statistics are used to compare the prevalence of overweight and obesity among children in different municipality groups. The statistics are newly developed and cover the period from 2012 to 2018. The statistics are comparable throughout the period.

Sale of prescription drugs (experimental Statistics)

The aim of the experimental statistics "Sales of prescription medicine" is to elucidate the population’s purchase of medicines via prescription. The statistics can be used to get insight into the distribution of redeemed prescriptions in relation to type of medicine, gender, age, geography and social conditions.

Social resources

The purpose of the survey is to establish the available social resources (capacity, number of users, and general organization, etc.) in Danish municipalities. Furthermore, the survey analyses the social- and health-care related services administered by municipalities. These services include care for the elderly, dental services for children and young people and special institutions for children and young people etc. The social resources survey includes public and privately owned institutions. The statistics are published for the first time in 1972 but have been changed over time due to changes in legislation an user needs.
