Definition

The indicator focuses on ensuring that women have equal rights to economic resources, access to ownership and control over land and property, financial services, inheritance, and natural resources. The indicator is based on the agricultural and horticultural census and shows the relative distribution of agricultural holdings and agricultural land by ownership categories:

Farms with male owners
Farms with female owners
Farms owned by companies and similar entities, where gender cannot meaningfully be assigned to the holding

However, the indicator does not take into account that the spouse of a farmer may be a co‑owner of an agricultural holding without being actively involved in farming.
