Target 4.c: Increase the supply of qualified teachers in developing countries
By 2030, substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers, including through international cooperation for teacher training in developing countries, especially least developed countries and small island developing States.
Indicators
4.c.1: Teachers with minimum qualifications
Proportion of teachers with the minimum required qualifications, by education level
Definition
According to the UN definition, the indicator should show the proportion of teachers at the different education levels (pre-primary, primary, lower secondary and upper secondary education) who have received at least the minimum pedagogical teacher training and in-service training required to teach at the relevant level. However, the indicator is not compiled in this way in Denmark.
For a similar indicator please refer to the national indicator, VM 4.1.2. The indicator shows the proportion of planned teaching hours in primary and lower secondary education that are taught by teachers with a qualifying education, expressed as a share of the total number of planned teaching hours.
