Companies report on their IT systems, security, e-commerce, and use of technologies like robotics and AI. The data help illustrate IT development and usage in businesses and are used by ministries, researchers, and analysts. As an EU-harmonized survey, results are comparable across member states.

Frequently asked questions
Reporting is mandatory by law
Due to EU legislation, Denmark is required to produce a range of business statistics.
Act on Statistics Denmark, Section 8-12a obliges companies to report data for statistical use.
The number of companies required to report
Approximately 4,000 companies are required to report every year.
How are the companies selected?
The survey is based on a sample of approximately 18,000 companies in private, non-financial urban sectors that have at least 10 full-time employees (annual work units).
Companies can voluntarily report the time they spend completing the survey. Companies typically spend approximately 20 minutes on this survey – including getting access, retrieving information, entering data and, in some cases, contacting our support. Based on the typical time spent per survey, the total time companies spend on this survey is calculated at 1,430 hours per year.
