Convicted persons

How many people are convicted in Denmark? What is their ancestry? What education do they have? How many people are convicted of violence or burglary, for example? The statistics show the number of people who have received a conviction in connection with criminal offences and special act offences.

A grouping of the population into three categories: Immigrants, descendants, and persons of Danish origin. These three groups can be further divided into persons of Danish origin, immigrants from Western countries, immigrants from non-Western countries, descendants from Western countries, and descendants from non-Western countries.

Different types of criminal offences, such as residential burglaries, common assault or malicious damage to property.

Convicted Persons

The purpose of the statistics is to analyze the number of persons who have been found guilty in violation of the penal code and the special laws (among these the Danish Road Traffic Act). The statistics on convicted persons was published for the first time for the year 1995. Since then it has been published for the years 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004 and hereafter annually.
