Indicators
11.2.1: Access to public transport
Definition
This indicator highlights the extent to which the population has access to public transport within a distance of 500 meters from their residence. The level of access to public transport is classified into five service levels: Very high – access to at least 10 departures per hour, as well as the possibility of using more than one type of public transport, typically a combination of bus and train or ferry. High – access to at least 10 departures per hour. Medium – access to 4–9 departures per hour. Low – access to fewer than 4 departures per hour but still some availability. None – no access to public transport within 500 meters walking distance. The assessment was conducted for a typical working day in December 2019 between 6:00 and 20:00. The indicator was calculated by Statistics Denmark based on stop data from Rejseplanen, road data from Kortforsyningen, and population data from the CPR register and Statistics Denmark’s own urban classification.
